Nina S. Beresford, a graduate of a rural Catholic School, has taught in various Catholic and Public all girls’ and co-ed schools in Newfoundland since 1970. She has been involved in numerous School and Staff Development initiatives, various hiring committees, was a member of the Director’s Principal Advisory Committee, an assistant Principal and Principal of schools with the Eastern District of Newfoundland, an Operations Coordinator for WooSong University and Language Institution in S. Korea for three years. She has a B.A.(Ed) and an M.Ed. in Administration from MUN. She is an active member of her church community at St. Pius X Parish is St. John’s where she is a lay reader. A Eucharistic Minister and also assists with the Children’s Liturgy Program. She is a mother of three daughters, a grandmother of five beautiful young children. As a result of her continued connection with children she is well aware of the need of a good grounded education for all children. She knows that St. Bonaventure’s College is committed to educational excellence and the formation of its students to become men and women for others in the Jesuit tradition. This college is built on a strong history spanning more than 150 years which is well known to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador and it is her hope that it will continue long into the future.

Nina has great faith that if we love and support our children, guide and challenge them, provide them with broad enriching experiences, and provide them with a solid moral foundation they will achieve success and be on their way to becoming competent, compassionate and caring leaders of the future.
